Pitney Bowes removed support for all Secap model franking machines at the end of December 2013.

Franking machines included in the discontinued list are the PPO, DP21(i) and DP41(i) series.

What does it mean if you use a Secap franking machine?

Put simply this means it will now be difficult for any provider to maintain a Secap franking machine. If you have a breakdown or maintenance issue it may take some time to source parts which could lead to many weeks of franking machine downtime without any guarantee those parts would actually work.

What are the options?

Now is a good time to look at your franking machine upgrade options

Moving to a modern smart meter franking machines would offer many added benefits compared to your old machine.

Smart machines are efficient, easy to use and enable customers to make additional savings via super accurate weighing and the ability to automatically claim back tax on your franking.

Why upgrade?

–         A new machine will improve reliability and we will be able to fix any issues quickly and efficiently with new parts.

–         The new smart meter machines are easy to use, work on a LAN or analogue connection and enable users to easily claim back VAT leading to additional savings.

Totalpost is able to offer a full range of franking machines including Pitney Bowes, Neopost machine. A full range can be viewed here.

Totalpost is a completely independent mailroom consultant. This means we are able to provide completely neutral mailroom audits with no bias to any particular manufacturer. We will assess your mailing needs and give you an open and honest breakdown of the costs involved and the savings that can be made (where applicable).

As a rule of thumb we recommend that any company that sends out more than 8 second class letters a day can make savings by using a franking machine instead of stamped mail. Companies that send out higher volumes of mail can make even greater savings.
